Esther Goudsmit was a daughter of Jacob Goudsmit and Jansje Cohen. She was diamond worker, unmarried and lived in Deltastraat 2A 1st floor in Amsterdam-South.
She had two sisters, Mietje and Sara Eva and three brothers, Jochem (or Joachim), Mozes and Nagman. Mozes died after the war in 1947 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Muiderberg. Of Jochem (or Joachim) and Sara Eva nothing else is known of them. Her sister Mietje passed in February 1942 in Amsterdam and her brother Nagman has been killed in April 1943 in Sobibor.
On 10 September 1942 Esther Goudsmit was taken from her residence to Westerbork and already the next day, on 11 September put on transport to Auschwitz. On arrival there on 14 September 1943, Esther Goudsmit has been immediately killed.
