Emanuel Ossendrijver was the eldest son of Abraham Ossendrijver and Henriëtte Citroen. He worked as a forwarder and married 20 July 1942 the domestic economist Theodora Helena (Dora) Korijn from Rotterdam, a daughter of Lodwijk Korijn and Debora Sara van den Berg. However it appeared at the time of the mandatory registration of the Jews by the Jewish Council that Emanuel had passed his state exam A in classic literature and that she has finished her law study, became a PhD in law and had been employed as lawyer.
Dora Korijn lived since 1937 in J.J. Viottastraat 36 where Emanuel, after his wedding in 1942, moved in too. Before, he lived with his parents at home in Swammerdamstraat 40 3rd floor.
Emanuel and Dora were “gesperrt”- exempted from deportation until futher notice; he worked as controller at the Jewish Council department “Aid for those who had to Depart” at Reguliersgracht 109 and Theodoa was employed as cleaning lady at the General Service of the Jewish Council in Lekstraat in Amsterdam
On 19 October both were deported to Auschwitz where on arrival on 22 October Dora was killed immediately. Emanuel was selected as a “labourer” and had to perform hard labor. Eventually he lost his life somehere in Poland/Mid Europe on 31 March 1944.
