Salomon Agstteribbe, born 12 June 1908 in Amsterdam, was a son of Liepman Agstteribbe and Sara Schaap. He married there 22 February 1933 Clara Knoop who was born in Amsterdam 15 September 1909 as daughter of Jonas Knoop and Esther Rijxman. The couple had two children, namely Suze in 1934 and John Liepman in 1939.
After his wedding, Salomon lived with his bride at Nieuwe Keizersgracht 10 in Amsterdam but per 14 February 1939 the Agstteribbe family moved over to Diezestraat 33 2nd floor, which became also their last known address in Amsterdam.
Salomon Agstteribbe was “exempted from deportation because of function”(gesperrt) and therefore also his family. He had this job at the Jewish Council as voluntary carer Municipal Office Social Affairs at Houtmarkt 10 (before named Jonas Daniel Meijerplein, the Israëlitic Main Synagogue N.I.H.S.).
On 28 November 1942 the complete family was taken to Westerbork, from where they have been deported to Auschwitz on 8 December. On arrival there on 11 December 1942, Clara and both her children Suze and John Liepman were immediately killed. Salomon Agstteribbe however was on arrival selected as a forced labourer. Eventually he lost his life in Auschwitz on 29 February 1943.
