Jesaya Beek, born 11 September 1903 as twinbrother of Naatje Beek, was a son of Lion Beek and Eva Spier. He married 25 June 1930 in Amsterdam Rebecca van der Goen from Den Bosch, who was born 8 September 1902 as daughter of David van der Goen and Rosina Tromp. Jesaya and Rebecca had two children: Lion in 1931 and Rosina in 1933. The family lived at Valkenburgerstraat 145 1st floor in the city centre of Amsterdam but were registered per 1 April 1941 at Musschenbroekstraat 27 2nd floor in Amsterdam-East.
The Jesaya Beek family was taken 15 July 1942 from their home address to Westerbork and already the next day, on 16 July deported to Auschwitz with the first transport from Westerbork. On arrival there, Rebecca Beek-van der Goen and both her children Lion and Rosina were immediately murdered.
Jesaya Beek was selected to perform hard labor in- or outside the camp. Not known is the date Jesaya died. Therefore after the war the Dutch Ministery of Justice has established his place and and date of death as on 30 September 1942 in Auschwitz.
