Betje Bosman, daughter of Salomon Bosman and Grietje Bood, was the 2nd wife of David Beek. Betje was born 10 January 1902 in Rotterdam and married him there on 17 October 1929. On 19 July 1920 their daughter Mary Greta was born.
David Beek arrived from Den Haag in Rotterdam on 19 January 1929, were he was registered at the address Schiekade 126c and where he has lived in for several months. Shortly before he was divorced from his first wife Rachel Kapper, who lived with both their son Albert at Weissenbruchstraat 95 in Den Haag. After his wedding to Betje Bosman they both started on 17 October 1929 at Mathenesserweg 43b.
David Beek was a commercial traveller. However, he passed away already in Rotterdam on 27 April 1931, after which Betje moved with her daughter Mary Greta on 28 May 1931 to Provenierssingel 14a, where both have lived in till 18 February 1936. Then relocations followed to Bergschelaan and Nieuwe Binnenweg and their last known address at the time of the compulsory registration with the Jewish Council was Rochussenstraat 5.
Betje Beek-Bosman and her daughter Mary Greta have made efforts to escape deportation and ended up via Belgium in France. There at some point in 1942 they have been arrested and taken to transit camp Drancy. On 17 August 1942 they were deported from there to Auschwitz and on arrival there on 19 August 1942 they were immediately murdered.
