Theresia Gompers was a daughter of Abraham Samuel Gompers and Wilhelmina Consenheim. She was born 14 March 1895 in Amsterdam, after there was born previously a Theresia in 1892, who however has died in 1893. The family also consisted of the daughters Elisabeth, Jansje, Catharina, and Marianna and a son Samuel. Elisabeth survived the Holocaust, Catharina died in 1919, 21 years old and Marianna died at the age of 39 in 1939. Their mother Wilhelmina Consenheim passed away already in 1928. Theresia, Jansje and Samuel and also her father Abraham were killed during the Shoah.
On 1 September 1921 Theresia Gompers married the 26-year old Isaäc Santcroos, a commercial traveller, who also was born on 14 March 1895 as son of Haim Abraham Santcroos and Hanna de Jong. After the wedding, Theresia and Isaäc lived in the Van Musschenbroekstraat 14 3rd floor in Amsterdam, after which they moved to the Roerstraat 3 on 28 March 1930. Then to Deltastraat in 1931 and in 1933 to Oosterpark, were Isaäc Santcroos passed away 23 April 1935. He was interred 26 April 1935 in the Portuguese Israelitic Cemetery at Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. Their marriage has remained childless.
Then the widow Theresia Santcroos-Gompers moved per 3 September 1935 to Hoofdweg 43 parterre in Amsterdam-West, where she found lodging with the 76-year old Jacob Levi, who lived there alone. After one year, Jacob Levi moved to Hoofdweg 21 parterre and Theresia went along with him. On 22 February 1941 another removal followed: Jacob Levi left nr. 21 for nr. 1 3rd floor and again Theresia moved with him too.
When Theresia was registered at the Jewish Council in Amsterdam, her address was Hoofdweg 1 3rd floor in Amsterdam-West, also her last known address in town. On 23 September 1942 she was registered in Westerbork and on 25 September put on transport to Auschwitz. On arrival there on 28 September 1942, Theresia Santcroos-Gompers was immediately murdered.
