This transport contained 995 people, including 232 children. A start with the list was made on 16 August with the persons who were arrested in Antwerp on the night of 16 August and who could no longer be deported with the fourth convoy. 499 people answered the call. The system still is functioning but is not very efficient. Even with the arrests added, the average number of registrations has fallen to 110 per day.
The fifth convoy arrived in Auschwitz on 27 August. The eradication number is not much lower than in the fourth convoy: 78,4%. Of the 215 registered deportees, 26 are still alive on 8 May 1945.
