Louis is hier geboren 15-07-1921 en heeft gedurende de oorlog in de Tolstraat 29 gewoond en op een paar onderduikadressen. Louis was fagottist, net 16 jaar oud, van het Palestine Orchestra van 2-7-1937 tot 1938.
Hij was fagottist van het Concertgebouworkest, 1938-1941. In 1941 werden 13 Joodse musici ontslagen waaronder ook Louis. Na de oorlog kreeg hij zijn positie in het orkest terug.
Emigreerde 30-09-1946 naar Cuba-Havanna en later naar Mexico.
Louis Salomons is overleden Naarden NL 24-12-1970 tengevolge van een verkeersongeluk.
Zijn oom was de fagottist Joseph de Groen, geboren 2-7-1867 overleden Westerbork 4-4-1943. As is bijgezet op de Joodse begraafplaats in Diemen, veld U, rij 2, graf 8.
Zijn neef was de fagottist Joseph Samson de Groen, Den Haag 24-04-1914 overleden Johannesburg 1978.

Born 15-07-1921 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands. At eleven years of age Louis won a scholarship to study at the Conservatory in his hometown Amsterdam.Before WW2 He was bassoonist at the Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 1941 he and another 12 Jewish musicians had to leave the orchestra. After WW2 he was back at the CO. In 1946 he emigrated to Cuba.
In 1946, director Erich Kleiber named him the first bassoon of the Havana Philharmonic Orchestra. He arrived in Mexico in 1949 called by Sergiu Celibidache *, to occupy the position of first bassoon of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico. In 1954 he returned to the Netherlands and was appointed professor of bassoon at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Two years later he returned to Mexico City and was, for many years, professor at the National Conservatory and at ENM at UNAM and first bassoon of the OSN, member of the Quintet of Fine Arts and Los Solistas de Mexico. He opened a bassoon factory in Mexico. He was considered one of the best bassoonists in the world. He offered concerts in the main cities of Europe, the United States and Mexico. He died during vacation in The Netherlands in the city of Naarden: 24-12-1970 at the age of 49 due to a traffic accident.
