About Mozes Polak

Mozes Polak, born 21 March 1874 in Rotterdam, was an unmarried son of Jacobus Polak and Vroukje de Jong. He was a commercial traveller by trade and after the passing of his parents, he lived in still a long time with his other siblings with his brother Noach Polak, who then still remained living in their parental home at Schiedamsedijk 111 in Rotterdam.

When his brother Noach got married to Lea Stad in 1931 and moved to Lange Pannekoekstraat 10a, also Mozes had to find space to live elsewhere. He found it at the address Spoorsingel 74b with his sister Betje, who was married to Simon Hornman and later also his sisters Hendrika and Henrietta came living in there.

Mozes Polak had the “luck” not being arrested and carried off to Westerbork and to extermination- and concentration camps in Eastern Europe. He passed away in Rotterdam on 20 January 1942.
