She was Born on August 10, 1890, in Sinzenichz, Germany. Married Sigmund Kaufmann from Kommern, Germany.
Bertha and Sigmund were on the same train to Holland together with Helene, Ilse and Ruth Scheuer in August of 1939. Upon arrival, they immigrated to London, while Jakob’s Scheuer’s family had to wait for a few days due to the mix up of Jakob’s immigration papers. This delay of a few days changed the course of there future.

*Gerda Kaufmann, born November 7, 1919. Emigrated to the U.S. on April 21, 1938. Married Joe Schwartz (Born June 30, 1910) form Neuenkirchen an der Saar, Germany. Ilse and Ruth lived with her in Brooklyn after they came to America.
Bertha died on October 1979, in London, England.
Sigmund died in 1973 in London, England.
