Emanuel van Moppes was born on 18 April 1883 in Amsterdam. He was the 6th child in the family of eight children of Isaac van Moppes and Schoontje Cohen. He married on 30 August 1906 in Amsterdam, the 23-year old Grietje Kattenburg from Amsterdam. She was a daughter of Meijer Kattenburg and Debora Garf and was born on 23 August 1883.
Emanuel and Grietje had two sons, namely Isidorre Emanuel on 11 July 1907 and Floris Maurits on 20 April 1911. Just as his brother Zacharias, als Emanuel was active in the diamond trade. His profession was cleaver of diamonds and due to that, from 1921 till 1924 he therefore stayed regularly in Antwerp as in the Lange Nieuwstraat 129 and in the Ommeganckstraat 78.
A document of the dossier of foreigners of the City of Antwerp reveals however, that Emanuel van Moppes had disagreements with his father-in-law Meijer Kattenburg. He wanted Emanuel to learn the trade of dental technology in order to earn an income outside the diamond trade, which Emanuel did not agree with. There was a lot of work in Antwerp en Emanuel even considered staying there forever.
During that period, Grietje Kattenburg and her two children stayed with her father in the Jacob van Campenstrata 132 in Amsterdam, while Emanuel earned his living in Antwerp, which varied from 200 to 500 Bfr weekly. But the marriage of Emanuel van Moppes and Grietje Kattendburg did not last and on 1 October 1931 the wedlock was dissolved by divorce.
Thereafter, Emanuel stayed still for some time in Amsterdam, at Spoorbaanstraat, Ruyschstraat and in 1935 at Meerhuizenplein. On 6 February 1936 he was registered in the Municipality of Roosendaal at the address Veemarkt 2 with the profession of garage proprietor. On 8 December 1936 however he moved to Postbaan 83 in Putte (Noord-Brabant), but futher nothing is known about Emanuel van Moppes and till now it is unclear where and when he passed away.
