Kurt Gustav Krailsheimer, born in 1926 in Nürnberg, was the son of Ida Krailsheimer, née Eisemann, who was born in 1900 in Floss, Bavaria. His father Max Krailsheimer came from Augsburg where he was born in 1893. Kurt Gustav had one sister, Ruth Flora.

Both their parents were murdered in the holocaust. Max, their father, was deported to Riga-Jungfernhof (ghetto Riga) on November 29, 1941, and shortly thereafter, on December 12, 1941, their mother Ida was deported to the same camp.

Kurt Gustav and his grandparents Abraham (1869 – 1943) and Selma Eisemann, née Hönigsfelder (1902 – 1943) managed to emigrate to Amsterdam. At Scheldeplein 6 II they shared a flat with Abraham and Selma’s daughter Martha Steinhardt, nèe Eisemann (1902 – 1943) and her husband Simon Steinhardt (1904 – 1945) who had probably come to the Netherlands with them. All of them were murdered by the Nazis.

Presumably, Ruth Flora came at the same time as her close relatives to the Netherlands. However, she lived apart from them in Varssefeld, Gelderland – and survived.
