According to this report by the Amsterdam police, department Jewish affairs, on June 25 1942 Abraham Mendes Da Costa was arrested in a train travelling from Nijmegen to Amsterdam without a travel permit and while not wearing a Jews star [Jodenster]. A day later he was handed over to the Sipo and SD.
