The story is taken from a life story drawn up in the 1970s from pages 5 and 6 by Wim Arnoldus.
"Wim and Rebekka Arnoldus had Jewish friends in The Hague, the Stimmler family in the Spaarnedwarsstraat in The Hague near the Giro office. This Jewish family was given an extension by the Jewish council to go to Westerbork in Drenthe because Mrs. Stimmler was pregnant. There was also a sister of Mrs. or Mr. Stimmler in the house and she had to go to Westerbork first. When the baby was born, the Stimmler family also had to go to Westerbork.
"The Jews of The Hague were gathered at the Amsterdam Veerkade in The Hague and taken away by Pasteur buses. The Stimmler family had asked my parents if they could take care of the newborn baby, but my parents did not dare, probably afraid of reprisals. People , who were caught with Jewish people in hiding, were taken by the Germans to a concentration camp. I can still remember that they had those delicious matzos at the Stimmlers. These people were Polish Jews and he was a linen trader heard anything from them, so they must have been gassed in a concentration camp."
