Daniel Kan

Daniel Kan, who was usually named Danny, was the first of the three children of Willi Kan and Susannah van Minden. He was born on 30 July 1932 and lived with his parents, brother and sister – a twin – in the Den Texstraat 47 in Amsterdam.

Willi Kan, textile manufacturer and son of Daniel Kan from Oldenzaal and Mathilde Klebe from Gießen in Germany, was born in Oldenzaal on 3 June 1898. He married Susannah van Minden in Amsterdam on 2 June 1931, a 26-year old daughter of the film dealer and keeper of movie theaters Raphael Abraham van Minden and Betsy Susan. Daniel was een leerling van de 1e Montessorischool aan de Corellistraat in Amsterdam. In deze school is een plaquette aangebracht waarop zijn naam staat vermeld.
