[Criminal Investigation Dept.]
Department set up at the end of the war to track down war criminals.
Term
Politieke opsporingsdienst
This department (POD) was established by the Dutch government in February 1945. War criminals, including those who had been active in the Dutch National Socialist Movement (NSB), Dutch members of the SS, collaborators and traitors, were tracked down and sent for trial.
