Esther Colthof was a child of the Colthof family living at the Galileïplantsoen in Amsterdam. The Colthof family was forced to move to the Jewish quarter of the city, where they settled at the Transvaalkade. The parents of Esther and another child in the family survived the war. After the war, Esther Colthof was buried at the urnfield at the Jewish cemetery in Diemen.
