Richard married Helga Steiner at Threzienstaat. Helga survived the war but Richard did not. They had/have a daughter which they named Alice Emma. After the war Helga remarried Berthold Erber and they moved to Israel where they had a second daughter--Varda.
In Israel my name Alice was changed to Aliza and I have kept that name when I came to the U.S.

My father
As Richard's only child I am very grateful to be able to pay tribute to him. I did not know him and like so many children of the Holocaust, I mourn and celebrate him and all the ones who have no voice.
