Werner Silberberg

Werner came to the Netherlands with a Kindertransport on January 4th, 1939. He stayed in Eindhoven (Dommelhuis), from where he went to Wieringen in November 1939.
His mother was Betty Neufeld, born in 1890 in Fordenberg: his father, Siegfried, born 9 September 1885 in Büren, was taken to Buchenwald on 12 November 1938. On March 31st, 1942 he was deprted from Gelsenkirchen to Warsaw.
The family wanted to emigrate to Brazil: they already had some cattle and fields there, but did not have a visa.
