Looking for a family connection

I am Ellen Beatrice VerDuin ...married to George Michael Urrutia
I have much information on my father's family as far as geneology. My grandmother who was 1st generation Orthodox, parents came to America via Ellis Island from Russia...told me my father John Robert VerDuin was "black dutch" although he was not black(jet black hair, deep blue eyes, tall)....so many unanswered questions. I have my mother's lineage, but my father is a mystery. So much hidden. Could you help me to see if we have a family connection?
