Bergen-Belsen

A section of the camp was intended for Jews eligible to be exchanged for German POWs held by the Allies. These candidates were prominent individuals and Jews with passports from countries outside the Greater German Reich. Most were from the Netherlands, including a few Palestine pioneers.
