The childhood boyfriend of Gisela Walbaum emigrated after the Kristallnacht to Vaals, just across the boarder of Aken, where his grandparents lived. Gisela and her friend
often met each other at night in the forest between Vaals and Aken, at the border of the Three-Country Point, because they could not separate. Later Gisela and her family moved from Aken to the Netherlands.
