Hans Schatz, an office clerk, was unmarried. He lived in The Hague. He was active in various resistance groups, in places including Groningen, Amsterdam and The Hague. On 18 July 1943 he was caught in Nieuw Zwinderen and locked up at the remand house in Arnhem. He was subsequently transferred to the prison in Scheveningen and deported to Auschwitz via the camps at Ommen and Westerbork.
