Hijman Italiaander was a son of Simon Italiaander and Lea Frank. He married Henriette Sluijter in 1912 in Amsterdam. She passed away in 1929 in Rosmalen. They had eight children. Four of them passed away at a very young age before the war. The other four survived the war. In 1933 Hijman Italiaander remarried in Amsterdam. His second spouse survived the war.
