Lion Zegerius, a shoemaker by trade, was a son of Meijer Hartog Zegerius and Duifje Lap. He married Vogeltje Polak in Amsterdam on 1 July 1914, a daughter of Izak Polak and Judikje Veltman. The couple had no children.
