Salomon Cardozo was a son of Jonas Cardozo and Esther Rood. He married in Roermond on 15 February 1938 to Elsa Behretz, who survived the Holocaust. City Archive of Amsterdam, archive card of Jonas Cardozo.
Het Archief van Bureau Joodse zaken (file nr. 73070) van het Stadsarchief Amsterdam vermeldt dat Salomon Cardozo op 13-1-1943 is gearresteerd en voorgeleid wordt aan de SD omdat hij: "illegal sein Wohnort geändert hat um sich dem Arbeitseinsatz zu entziehen. (en) Ein Teil seiner Eigentümer (Kleider, Leibwäsche) der Einlieferung entzogen hat".
