Hij werd via de crèche tegenover de Hollandsche Schouwburg in Amsterdam weg gesmokkeld naar Heerlen, om bij een lief protestants gezin ondergebracht te worden. Na de oorlog is hij bij dit gezin gebleven. Hij woont nog steeds in Limburg. Heeft 2 kinderen, Emanuel Jacob en Rachel Sophia.
