Hertha Hammerschlag-Buttermilch

Hertha was the daughter of Siegfried and Sara Buttermilch, née Salinger. Hertha was murdered in Sobibor on 23 March 1943; her husband had died in Amsterdam 3 February 1943. Her siblings Dr. Max Buttermilch and Leo Buttermilch perished in Theresienstadt and Gertrud Goldstein, née Buttermilch was murdered in Treblinka.

We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.
