Due to the pressure of the circumstances, Alice Eichwald committed suicide on 16 March 1943 in Westerbork transit camp. She was cremated there on 18 March 1943. The urn with her ashes was placed on the Jewish cemetry in Diemen on field U, row 1, grave number 9.
