Anita Hendrika Adler

The police commissioner in charge of the juvenile police in Amsterdam requested that Anita Hendrika Adler, residing at 31 Botticellistraat, ground floor, in Amsterdam and missing since 10 July 1942, be located. Identifying characteristics: 'about 5'3" tall, blonde, sturdy, wearing a blue coat and skirt, white blouse, blue shoes.' This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 11940) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 105 / 1908).

Anita was een oud-leerling van de 1e Montessorischool aan de Corellistraat 1 in Amsterdam. In deze school is een plaquette aangebracht waarop Anita’s naam staat vermeld.

Haar naam komt ook voor op een van de koffers van het kunstwerk In Memoriam van Willem Volkersz.

Van de 172 (oud-)leerlingen van de 1e Montessorischool in Amsterdam die in de Tweede Wereldoorlog werden vermoord waren er 169 joods. Zij staan hier in de rechter kolom alfabetisch vermeld.
