Paul Henri Hendrix

Paul Henri Hendrix worked during the war for the Jewish Council in Amsterdam. On 23 September 1943 he was sent with his family to Westerbork. Because he realised that his youngest daughter was too young to survive the harsh conditions in the camp, he arranged for her to live with an aunt and a non-Jewish uncle. She survived the war.

Paul Henri is een zoon van Alexander Jacobus Hendrix en Johanna Rebecca Elias. Hij trouwde 28 mei 1929 met Bertha Vles (21 jaar), dochter van Abraham Vles en Maria Anna Henrica Fredrica van Hamberg.

Bertha Hendrix-Vles was getrouwd met Paul Hendrix. Ze kregen drie kinderen: Robert Alexander (1930), Hans Leonard (1933) en op 28 januari 1939 werd in Amsterdam dochter Marianne geboren. Paul Hendrix was beurshandelaar en Bertha Hendrix-Vles zorgde voor het huishouden. Voor haar huwelijk had ze rechten gestudeerd.
