Otto Michaelis and Nellij Azijnman got married in Den Bosch on 15 November 1904. In 1937 the couple moved to The Hague. In March 1940 the settled in Vught at Marggraffstraat 1b. Their last known address was Van de Pollstraat 36 in Vught.
