Abraham IJer was a son of Jacob Abraham IJer and Saartje Hangjas. 7 October 1896 he married in Rotterdam Kaatje Stad, a daughter of Mozes Stad and Elizabeth de Roode. The couple had four children, namely Saartje, Elisabeth, Israël Jacob and Rijntje. All of them and their families have been killed in the Shoah.
