Hersch Stein was a son of Jakov Stein and Sarah Berglas. Hij was born in Ryglice in Poland. There were six children in the parental home. One of them survived the war in the Netherlands.
Researche showed that the 400 Jewish inhabitans of Ryglice had to move to the ghetto of Tarnow. They were thereupon deported Belzec were they were killed.
