Ilse G. lived at Brauner Weg 41 (today Singerstr.) in Berlin-Friedrichshain before emigrating to Holland. Her mother Adele Gappe-Hoffnung (13.07.1901 in Berlin) was deported to Minsk Ghetto on 14.11.1941, where she perished. The personal details and fate of her father Max Gappe is uncertain; a person of the same name emigrated in the late 1930s from Germany to Shanghai and lived there at 961 Tung Zangdze Lu; it is possible it is the same person.
