The widow Van Leer-Raalte lived with her three children, Mozes, Vroukje en Dina, at the Noordkade in Drachten. The children were all mentally hanidicapped. The family was poor. The widowe Van Leer-Raalte sold tea and coffee going door-by-door. On Pesah she also sold Matzes.
