Martin de Jongh was a son of Jonas de Jongh and Debora Boas. He married Judith Levie, daughter of Eliazar Levie and Betje Hartog, in Zuidland on 29 August 1934. Before Judith married she and her sister Mietje worked as seamstresses at a workshop in Rotterdam. Every day she rode the trolley from Zuidland to Rotterdam.
