Eliazer Brandel was the son of Joseph Brandel and Rijntje Stad. In 1941 he was registered as a advertising painter. Before then he worked as a salesman in unregulated goods and as a usher in a movie theater.
Eliazer was married three times. His first marriage bore two children. The eldest child died at a young age. The second child survived the war. Eliazer got a divorce from his first wife in 1919. In 1926 he got divorced from his second wife. One child was born from this second marriage. The child's name was Eduard.
On May 8, 1929 Eliazer Brandel gets married to Clara Tokkie, who was married before to Lion Winnik. Two children are born from this marriage to Lion: Betsie Sophie and David. Both of them live at the Nieuwe Achtergracht 144 in Amsterdam.
