Simon Achttienribbe and his family

Simon Achttienribbe was married. He and his wife had three children. The family lived in Amsterdam. Simon Achttienribbe taught at the Joods Lyceum [the secondary school that the Nazis forced Jewish students to attend]. As a member of the De Groot resistance group, he supplied Jews in hiding with ration coupons and identity cards. On 4 February 1943 he was arrested in Groningen and deported to Sobibor via Westerbork.
