Joseph Marcus Bonn and his future wife Jeannette de Vries became officially engaged on 7 September 1905. They were married on 21 September 1905 at 1.00 PM in the Plancius hall on the Plantage Kerklaan. A menu of the wedding banquet remains. The couple lived at 6 Transvaalplein, ground floor, in Amsterdam. Joseph Bonn and Jeannette de Vries belonged to the Jewish funeral association Ohabe Zedaka Menachem Abelim. Joseph Marcus Bonn was also a member of the diamond workers' associations the Algemeene Nederlandse Diamantbewerkers Bond (ANDB) and of the Vereeniging van Israëlitische Diamantbewerkers, a division of Betsalel. Certificates of membership of these associations remain as well and are in the archive.
