Alex Sternfeld was given the opportunity to go into hiding, but went to Westerbork anyway because his wife could stay at home and he was afraid she would have to face the consequences of him disappearing. His sons Albert and Leo followed him to Westerbork in order not to abandon him. Rosalie Egger later went into hiding but was betrayed.
