Klaartje Lierens-Presser was a daughter of Levie Presser and Catharina Goudsmit. She was married to Joseph Lierens. Joseph was a son of Samson Lierens and Roosje Swaab. He was a tram conductor but was declared medically unfit to work at the age of 43.
Klaartje Presser-Lierens was an excellent seamstress and knitter. She had trained to sew lingerie after leaving school. Their eldest daughter Roza was taken away on 12 March 1943. Since Joseph was sick, he was allowed to remain at home with his wife. But shortly afterwards the couple were taken away after all, and deported by way of Westerbork transit camp to Sobibor.
