Isaac Lakmaker was married to Rosette Nikkelsberg. The couple had a daughter Anna, who was know as Annie. The family lived in Zwanenburg-Halfweg, where Isaac Lakmaker owned the 'Manufacturen Bazar I. Lakmaker' at 52 Dennenlaan. The shop sold all conceivable textile-related supplies, from thimbles to silk fabrics.
Anna attended the Julianaschool in Halfweg. When she had to leave the school because she was Jewish, she transferred to a school that had opened for Jewish children in Haarlem.
Like all Jewish shops, Isaac Lakmaker's Bazar was assigned to a trustee. The Lakmakers were forced to move to Amsterdam. First they moved in with a family on the Van Woustraat and later obtained their own apartment on the Sint Antoniesbreestraat.
In addition, a Jokos file (number 55513) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk. The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 12).
