Estela Gomperts was a daughter of Mozes Gomperts and Froukje Bierschenk. She married Jacob Duijzend in 1891 in Amsterdam. He passed away in 1928.

Estela Gomperts had four children. Three children survived the war in hiding. When her daughter Frederika and her son-in-law were placed on the transport list to Auschwitz she went with them voluntarily.
