About Gidion Tertaas

Gidion Tertaas, a son of Mozes Tertaas and Rebecca Leeda, married Heintje Piller on 17 May 1922, a daughter of Hartog Piller and Bertha Wertheijm. In 1938, the couple moved to Berchem, Belgium, where they resided at Thaliastraat 91. The couple had certainly one son Mozes who lived in since September 1939 with his grandparents Piller in Amsterdam.
Gidion Tertaas was deported from Mechelen to Auschwitz with Convoy VII from 1 September 1942 and much likely immediately killed upon arrival .
Gidion was born in a family with seven children. Two of them survived the war. His other siblings, Elisabeth, Hartog, Benjamin and Philip, have been killed all in the Shoah.
