Jozeph Wolff was the son of Jacob Wolff and Judik van Buuren. He married Hinderina Cohen in 1917. The couple had a son, but the child was stillborn. A few years later they separated. Jozeph lived at various addresses in Meppel and worked from home as a tailor. At the beginning of the war he tried to commit suicide, but his housekeeper found him and fetched help. He was taken to hospital and revived. In July 1942 he was sent to work in the labour camp at Vledder. Later on he was sent to Westerbork and then deported to Auschwitz.
