Amsterdam Municipal Archives; record card of Jacob Presser

Jacob Presser was a sales representative for shoes and also had a cabaret group. He performed with this group on the radio for the VARA. He also was an amateur photographer.
In the beginning of the war a photo book by him was published by printing house Dupker in Amsterdam. The photos show the desctruction and propaganda of that time. Jacob Presser was arrested for resistance work. He was presumably involved with the foundation of Het Parool as an illegal newspaper. He was deported from the so-called penalty prison in Scheveningen to Westerbork. There still was an appeal to the family to collect money for new teeth. After that every trace was lost.
