Coenraad Hijmans studied medicine in Leiden and Amsterdam. He sat for his medical finals in Leiden on 22 May 1908. He specialized in surgery and gynaecology and took his PhD degree in Ghent on 3 August 1912. Coenraad Hijmans lived and practised medicine at 127 Willemsparkweg in Amsterdam and had a practice at 97 Sarphatistraat in Amsterdam as well. He also had office hours for urology and X-ray diagnosis.
