Rebekka Sluizer-Bloch got the opportunity of going into hiding in Haarlem. At her hiding place she broke her hip. Medical help was difficult and dangerous to get in her situation. To protect the family that gave her shelter, she crawled to the Spaarne river and drowned herself.
