About Herman Duitz

By Royal Decree of 26 February 1814 and at the initiative of King William I, the Nederlandsch Israëlitisch Seminarium [Dutch-Jewish seminary] (NIS) was opened in Amsterdam to provide the Jewish communities with rabbis, teachers and other officials. Herman Duitz, son of Salomon, attended the NIS.

As a staff member of the Joodse Raad, Herman Duitz was authorized by Camp Westerbork Commander Gemmeker to travel to Amsterdam on Sunday 30 May 1943.

Herman Duitz was married to Helene Levie during the war. His last address was Lekstraat 122 III in Amsterdam.
